Personal Experience & Biography

I am very passionate about working with children, teens, and young adult population (ages 5 – 25). I have worked in variety of settings including: schools, in-home services, outpatient settings, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and foster care agencies.

While providing mental health counseling to this unique population I have been able to treat a wide range of concerning issues and utilize a wide range of evidence-based interventions that meet client’s needs.

Some examples of interventions I used include expressive and art, play-based, bibliotherapy/narrative (which uses stories and books), sand-tray, solution focused, CBT, and mindfulness.

I am also currently undergoing certification/training in EMDR and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) to help children and teens heal from traumatic experiences.

I take a collaborative approach with genuineness, warmth, acceptance, and non-judgment to develop a safe space and strong therapeutic connection. I strive to meet you and/or your child where you are and together establish an individualized plan for growth, self-awareness, utilization of strengths and optimal well-being.

Many of my fellow colleagues have described me as a modern Mary Poppins therapist due to my upbeat and cheery disposition. Both my personality and my approach to treating children and teens results in strong theraputic alliance and greater quality of care.
