I help clients who are feeling burnt out and overwhelmed, who find anxiety and depression getting in their way, who want to stop being irritable and on edge with the people they care about, and who find themselves caught in cycles of shame and inadequacy. Many of my clients come to me, because they find the difficult and traumatic experiences of their past interfering with their lives in the here and now. I use a collaborative and integrative approach pulling from evidence based practices including EMDR, CBT, and DBT. As a therapist, I provide clients with support, skills, and strategies to empower them to live the life they want. Together, we wade through the muck to find and address what’s getting in the way of a peaceful and full life.
In every session, I aim to show up as a genuine human who embraces imperfection and authenticity. In doing so, I hope to create a warm, open, and non-judgmental space that allows folks to show up and be seen and affirmed as your whole self. Like life, I think therapy works best with balance, and I use humor where appropriate while we wade through the heavy stuff. I recognize that it is normal to struggle in an unjust world, and my practice is informed by principles of feminism, anti-racism, and anti-oppression.
My clients continue to come back to me, because they appreciate that I am genuine and real with them. I recognize that my clients are the best experts on their life and treat them as such. They return, because they see themselves making progress towards the life they want after processing the painful parts of their past that interfere with those goals.
