Personal Experience & Biography

I prefer to work with teenagers and young adults identify goals for themselves and accomplish these goals. I utilize psychoeducation and CBT techniques in order to help them achieve their goals. Working in a high school setting, I have also learned how important it is that members of the LGBTQ community have supports. I have helped to establish the GSA in one of our local high schools in order to help have this support available to them.

It is very important to me that my client feels comfortable when they enter my office. I will spend time building rapport and establishing a therapeutic relationship with my clients in order to achieve this. I try to make our sessions productive and enjoyable. Hopefully, my clients will leave my office feeling like they just spent time with a friend. AS far as personality traits, I would describe myself as outgoing, friendly, and non-judgmental. I also consider myself funny, however, I tend to laugh at my own jokes more than those around me.

The relationships that I build with my clients are what keeps them coming back for follow up visits. I ensure that my clients feel heard and help them to achieve their personal goals. It is also very important to me that my clients do not feel judged or self-conscious about the topics that we discuss.
