I have a great deal of experience working with people who have chronic illness, depression, anxiety and co-dependency. I work with many people who are the caregivers to their families. I’ve observed that caregivers are often wonderful about taking care of everyone except themselves. As a therapist I will help you prioritize self care. I will support you in setting limits and boundaries and keeping that backbone when then temptation is to please others at your own expense. It is OK to say “No”. It is OK to put yourself first for a change. It is important that you feel seen and heard. Your feelings matter. I promise working with me you will become fierce in defense of yourself.
My clients tell me they feel safe with me. That is the most important quality I hope to convey-safety. I hope from the moment we meet you will feel my warmth and genuine concern for your well being. My younger clients have told me they feel like I’m the mom (or even grandma) they always wanted and never had. My intent is to love and accept you without judgment and help you express your most authentic self.
My clients and I form a special relationship based upon healing and growth. My clients stick with me because they know I care and because they know I have the wisdom and experience to guide them through changes that result in happier and healthier lives. They come back because what happens in a session with me feels helpful and useful.
