I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master’s Degree in Addiction Counseling. I have worked in the mental health field for 15 years, assisting children, adolescents and families in reaching their treatment goals. I am also certified through JSOCCP to provide clinical services to juvenile sex offenders.
I am very person-centered in my approach. I believe that individuals come into therapy sessions looking for assistance with reaching their treatment goals; however, they are truly the experts in their own lives. Often, they just have not become aware of this fact. I attempt to empower my clients. When clients fully grasp the power they have in their lives, great things can happen. I accept my clients as they are, without judgment of who they are, who they have been or who they aspire to be because I realize that their treatment is about what they want for their lives and not what I feel they should want for their lives.
I have been told by clients that I am very easy to open up with. Without trust and rapport in the therapeutic relationship, progress is not possible. I am empathic and care about the success of every client I serve.
