Personal Experience & Biography

I have a Master of Education degree, Specializing in Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College with 25 years of experience in counseling, corrections, social services, and substance abuse. I have facilitated adult and adolescent groups for 25 years in various settings to include residential facilities, courts, mental health agencies, inpatient, and outpatient facilities on a variety of issues. These include communication and values, grief and loss, substance abuse and recovery, and other psychosocial topics and education.

I instantly make clients feel comfortable by sharing a little about myself and using humor when appropriate. I’m informal and relaxed during sessions and convey that to clients through my body language, tone, and affect. We are just two people talking about the issues that brought them to KCC.

I enjoy helping others while using evidence-based approaches and integrating various treatment therapies to best meet the needs and goals of my clients. I provide emotional support and guidance to adults focusing on grief and loss, addiction and recovery, trauma, depression and anxiety. I aim to empower my clients to create space, balance, time, and strength to process and work through their mental health needs. I meet clients where they are and partner with them to work through their mental health needs.
