Personal Experience & Biography

We all need to experience acceptance and love, a place of rest. In this type of environment we can heal wounds, grow in our strengths and establish boundaries with self and others.

Sessions are practical and utilize your strengths to help you achieve your goals. I provide education regarding trauma and its effects on the physical body. I teach skills to help our bodies come back to rest after being activated into fight, flight, freeze or fawn. Breathing techniques, mindfulness strategies and guided imagery aid in helping you experience being present in session. Then we discuss strategies for how to apply this outside of a counseling session. Together, we can identify negative patterns in thought and behavior and help you consider and explore new strategies for healing and connection.

A relationship with a therapist is like an island in a sea of storm. This stillness is what keeps you coming back. It is also why I stay in therapy myself. There is a steadiness here that we rely on.
